Nick Saban picked up his first commitment from Mississippi in safety Rod Woodson. A 5-foot-11, 200-pound safety he has the reputation as a big-time hitter, "I like hitting," he told The Clarion-Ledger of Jackson, Miss. Rivals rates Woodson a three-star prospect and the No. 13 prospect in Mississippi. He reportedly had scholarship offers from a number of SEC programs, including Auburn, Ole Miss and Tennessee. Woodson becomes the 11th commitment to the 2009 class. Alabama also picked up Defensive end William Ming of Athens High and Gerald West a defensive back from Mobile.
