Carroll was forced into action last season as a true freshman and led the Bulldogs to a 8-5 season and a Liberty Bowl win. Look for Mississippi State to open up the offense and expanded his role this season, "I expect a lot more from myself and from my teammates just because we've all had a year going into the season," Carroll said.

Bobby Johnson is entering his seventh season as the Vanderbilt head coach, that makes him the longest tenure coach at Vandy in over 20 years.

LSU coach Les Miles wasn't giving up anything about his quarterback situation. Andrew Hatch, a transfer from Harvard, looks to be the front runner. Miles said, "The most consistent performer" will win the job.
"The state of Louisiana has 12 colleges that play football. If Alabama played those 12 as a schedule in the season, what do you think their record would be?" That was the question posed to Les Miles referring to his past comments about Louisiana teams beating Alabama. He did not have the same response this time around saying, "I want you to know something: I have great respect for the University of Alabama, the history they have presented to college football, the competition that they put on every time they take the field."
